“ውዴ ሆይ ና ወደ መስክ እንውጣ በመንደሮችም እንደር … በዚያ ፍቅሬን እሰጥሃለሁ”
መኃ 7:12-13
የተወደዳችሁ የመንፈስ ቅዱስ ልጆቼ፣
ባለፉት ሦስት ዓመታት አንድ ልብ አንዲት ነፍስ እንደነበረቻቸው የመጀመሪያዎቹ ክርስቲያኖች በክርስቶስ ፍቅር የተገመደ ቤተ ሰብአዊ አንድነት እንዲኖረን፣ በመንፈሳዊ ሕይወታችን ሥር ሰደን በክርስቶስ ላይ እንድንታነጽ፣ እንዲሁም በቅዱስ ሥጋው በክቡር ደሙ የታተምን እንድንሆን ስንሠራ ቆይተናል።
እግዚኣብሔር ቢፈቅድ በዚህ በመጭው ዓመት ደግሞ ክርስቶስን ይዘን ወደ መስክ ለሥራ ብንወጣ፣ በየመንደሩ ያሉትን ብንጎበኝ ብለን አስበናል። የእኛን ነፍስ የምትወክለው በመኃልይ ላይ የምናገኛት ሱላማጢስ በውዷ በክርስቶስ ፍቅር ተማርካ ከሌሎች ደናግል ጋር እርሱን ብቻ መከተል ከጀመረች በኋላ፣ መልኳን አክስሎት ከነበረው ከፀሐይ ቃጠሎ ከተለየች በኋላ፣ በዕንቊ በወርቅ ተሸልማ በንጉሡ እልፍኝ በማዕድ ከተቀመጠች በኋላ በመጨረሻ “ውዴ ሆይ ና ወደ መስክ እንውጣ” ትለዋለች። እኛም ልክ እንዲሁ ከዓለም ፍቅርና ከኃጢኣት ራሳችንን ከለየን፣ በንስሐ ከተመለስን እና በሥጋውና በደሙ ከክርስቶስ ጋር ፍጹም ከተዋሐድን በኋላ “ጌታ ሆይ ኣሁን ና ወደ መስክ” እንውጣ ልንለው ይገባል። በልባችን ያለውን የክርስቶስን ፍቅር ለሌሎች በበጎ ሥራ ማጋራት ያስፈልጋል።
መስክ የተባለው ሠራተኞችን በጉጉት የሚጠብቀው መከሩ ብዙ የሆነው ሰፊው ማሳ ነው (ሉቃ 10:2)። ይህም ሌላ አይደለም ከእጆቻችን ጉርሻን የሚናፍቅ በረሃብ የተገረፈ የድሆች ሆድ፣ ከእጃችን ቀዝቃዛ ውሃን የሚለምን በጥም የተቃጠለ ጉሮሮ፣ ሐሩርና ብርድ የሚፈራረቅበት የተራቆተ የችግረኞች ሰውነት፣ ማረፊያ ያጣ የእንግዶች አካል፣ ብረት በር የተከረቸመበት እስረኛ፣ ሰው የሚናፍቀው የኣልጋ ቁራኛ ነው። ወደዚህ መስክ ካልወጣን ወደ የመንደሩ ካልሄድን በመጨረሻ ዛሬ ያገኘነውን ክርስቶስን ኋላ ልናጣው እንችላለን። ምንም እንኳ ድንግልናችንን በንጽሕና ብንጠብቅ ወደ ሠርጉ ቤት ከውዳችን ከሙሽራው ከክርስቶስ ጋር እንዳንገባ ደጁ ሊዘጋብን ይችላል። አላውቃችሁም ከፊቴ ገለል በሉ ሊለን ይችላል (ማቴ 25፥11)። ስለዚህ እግዚኣብሔር ቢረዳን በመጪው ዓመት ማረፊያ ወደባችን ወደ ሆነው ወደ ክርስቶስ የሚያደርሱን የምግባረ ሠናይ ሥራዎች ላይ በስፋት የምንሠማራ ይሆናል።
ስንርቀው ቀርቦ፣ ስንጠላው ወዶ፣ ስንክደው ታምኖ፣ ስንወድቅ አንስቶ፣ ስንሰበር ጠግኖ፣ ስንረክስ ቀድሶ፣ ስንቆሽሽ አጥቦ አንጽቶ፣ ስንቆስል ቆስሎ በቊስሉ ፈውሶ፣ ስንሞት ሞቶ በሞቱ ሞታችንን ገድሎ ላዳነን ፊቱን ሳይመልስ ፍቅሩን ሳይቀንስ ለወደደን ለእርሱ ምን ወረታ እንከፍለዋለን? የትስ አግኝተነው ብድራቱን እንመልሳለን ካልን ሱላማጢስ ሙሽራው ክርስቶስ ያለው በመስኩ በመንደሩ ነው ትለናለች። ስለዚህ ይህ አዲሱ ዓመት በወደቅህበት በመስኩ በችግር ታስረህ ባለህበት በመንደሩ በዚያ መጥቼ ፍቅሬን እሰጥሃለሁ (ለፍቅርህ ምላሽ እሰጣለሁ) ብለን የምንነሳበት ነው። ራሱ ባለቤቱ “ከእነዚህ ከታናናሾቹ ለአንዱ ያደረጋችሁትን ሁሉ ለእኔ ኣደረጋችሁት” ብሎ እንደነገረን የሚወደንን የምንወደውን ክርስቶስን የምናገኘው በመካከላችን ባሉ በችግረኞች በኩል ነውና እነርሱን መጎብኘትን ችላ አንበል።
እግዚኣብሔር ይርዳን!
“Come, my beloved, let us go forth to the field; let us lodge in the villages… There I will give you my love.”
Song of Songs 7:12–13
My beloved children in the Holy Spirit,
Over the past three years, we have been striving to build a family united by the love of Christ, like the first Christians who were of one heart and one soul; to become deeply rooted in our spiritual life and built upon Christ; and to be sealed by His Holy Body and Precious Blood.
God willing, in this coming year, we have thought to take Christ with us and go out into the field to labor, visiting those in the villages. In the Song of Songs, the Shulamite, who represents our soul, is captivated by the love of her Beloved, Christ. After she begins to follow Him alone with the other virgins, after escaping the scorching sun that had marred her beauty, and after being adorned with pearl and gold and seated at the King’s table in His chamber, she finally says to Him, “Come, my Beloved, let us go forth to the field.” In the same way, after separating ourselves from the love of the world and from sin, returning through repentance, and being fully united with Christ through His Body and Blood, we too should say, “Lord, now come, let us go forth to the field.” We must share with others, through good works, the love of Christ that is in our hearts.
The field is the vast harvest waiting eagerly for laborers (Luke 10:2). It is the stomach of the poor, struck by hunger and longing for a morsel from our hands; the throat burning with thirst and asking for a cup of cold water; the naked body of the needy, exposed to heat and cold; the stranger with nowhere to rest; the prisoner confined behind steel bars; and the bedridden person longing for human companionship. If we do not go out into this field and into these villages, we may eventually lose the Christ whom we have found today. Even if we preserve our virginity in purity, the door of the wedding feast may be shut, and we may not enter with our Beloved Bridegroom, Christ. He may say to us, “I do not know you; depart from Me” (Matthew 25:11). Therefore, if God helps us, in the coming year we will devote ourselves more fully to works of charity that lead us to Christ, our harbor of rest.
When we drew away, He came near; when we hated Him, He loved us; when we denied Him, He remained faithful; when we fell, He raised us; when we were broken, He restored us; when we were defiled, He sanctified us; when we were stained, He washed us clean; when we were wounded, He was wounded and healed us by His wounds; when we died, He died and by His death destroyed our death and saved us. What can we give in return to Him who loved us without turning His face away or diminishing His love? And if we ask, “Where can we find Him to repay this debt?” the Shulamite tells us: the Bridegroom Christ is in the field, in the village.
Therefore, this new year is the year in which we rise and say: “There, in the field where You have fallen; there, in the village where You are bound in suffering, I will come and give You my love; I will respond to Your love.” For the Master Himself told us, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did it for Me.” Since we find Christ, who loves us and whom we love, through the needy among us, let us not neglect to visit them.
