“We All Partake of That One Bread”
1 Corinthians 10:17
My Beloved Children in Confession,
Each year, our journey together as the Dekike Tsion Assembly has been guided by a spiritual theme meant to draw us closer to God and to one another.
In our first year, we reflected on the verse “Those who believed were of one heart and one soul.” (Act. 4:32) That year, we focused on building a family in Christ—a community bound together in love, faith, and mutual care.
In our second year, our theme was “Rooted in Him.” We turned inward to strengthen our spiritual roots, learning to draw life from Christ through prayer, fasting, giving, Scripture, and repentance.
Now, as we begin our third year, we take a step further inward to the very heart of our faith, the Holy Communion. Guided by Saint Paul’s words, “We all partake of that one bread” (1 Cor. 10:17), this will be a year when we all seek to make the altar the center of our lives.
We will dedicate this year to renewing our life of Holy Communion—learning it, preparing for it, and partaking of it faithfully. It will be a year of leaving behind all that has held us back—fear, unpreparedness, excuses—and approaching the altar with repentance and reverence.
The Holy Communion is not a mere ritual. It is our true union with Christ Himself. In receiving His Body and Blood, we are joined to Him and to one another; we become one Body in Him. This is the greatest gift and the highest calling — to live each day as those who have truly become one with Christ.
May this Gubae mark the beginning of a renewed life of Communion for us all: a year when our faith moves from distance to closeness, from routine to encounter, and from separation to perfect oneness in Christ.
