On August 29th, the community gathered for the fourth annual Niseha Gubae (AG4), a day centered on repentance, prayer, fellowship, and service.
This year’s gathering focused on Christ’s words in Matthew 25:35–36: “For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.”
These words reminded participants that our love for Christ is reflected in the way we care for and serve others.
Prayer and Reflection
The gathering opened with Kidan, followed by the seven prayer hours throughout the day. The mini-retreat focused on the faith and repentance of St. Peter and his encounter with Christ after returning to fishing. Participants reflected on how we often return to old ways after experiencing God’s grace, but Christ continues to meet us where we are and lovingly calls us back to Him.
Participants also received spiritual teachings from Kesis Eueal and Deacon Daniel, whose sermons encouraged deeper repentance, renewal, and a life centered on Christ.
Faith Put Into Action
Reports on Dekike Tsion’s outreach activities were shared, highlighting the community’s previous service efforts and introducing future plans, including continued work through the Ministry of the Poor.
These reflections connected the message of Matthew 25 to Dekike Tsion’s mission, reminding participants that serving those in need is an important expression of Christian faith.
Ending in Praise
The gathering concluded outdoors with mezmure, bringing the day to a joyful close through praise and fellowship.
AG4 served as a reminder that repentance should lead to transformation and that our faith must be lived through prayer, compassion, and service. Participants were encouraged to recognize Christ in those around them and carry the message of the Gospel into their daily lives.
