Members of Dekike Tsion, through the service of the deacons, gathered to prepare and pack 415 sandwiches for individuals in need, offering care and support through a simple yet meaningful act of love.

This act of service reflects the calling given from the early Church, where the first deacons were ordained to care for those in need (Acts 6). It is a reminder that the ministry of service extends beyond the altar into the lives of others.

As Saint John Chrysostom teaches:

“Do you wish to honor the Body of the Savior? Do not despise it when it is naked… He who said, ‘This is my body,’ is the same that said, ‘You saw me hungry…’ Honor Him then by sharing with the poor.”

Through this outreach, the deacons lived out this calling—serving with humility, compassion, and faith, and reminding us that Christ is found not only in worship, but in those we are called to serve.
